Once again, this rumination is deadly. Paralytically inclined, what is to be gained by further analysis? Optimizations require that we misjudge our abilities, over-under; this means the trade offs cannot be avoided;
This does not mean all trade offs are bad. They are just trade offs;
Ego: you bare your misshapen fangs and skew us with your howls and whispers. Is there no end to your rant? Of course there is not. You are the ego after all, eternal in your self-indulgence, deeply afraid of losing yourself. We could replace your every word with ME-ME-I-I-ME-ME-ETC and the quality of your information would be unchanged. How is it possible that anything on this earth gets done with 7 billion egos bumping into one another?
We suspect this issue has become worse in modern times;
Back to the point — we want it both ways, all ways, riskless and rich. The mind will tie itself in knots to achieve this. All this wasted effort just to fool ourselves, and the ego sees no cause to relent. Case in point (a digression) — the acquisition of a black Les Paul was driven by an ego viciously wounded by theft and tarnished identity. Entitlement + insurance $. Sometimes its sweet articulate thunder and the ego infuse themselves with each other as they dance through the void. Strange. It’s still around, partly because one simply does not apologize for a Les Paul. This is a tenet of stoicism and has been with us since the Romans;
Again, worse in modern times;
In stillness, one remedy is to watch dragonflies and hummingbirds command the same space. The ego has difficulty processing such visions.
