This is terrifying, but consider the following tally of horsefly kills:
- Day 1 – 5
- Day 2 – 7
- Day 3 – 6
- Day 4 – 2
- Day 5 – 2
- Day 6 – 2
- Day 7 – 3 (a daddy longlegs feasted on a corpse — gruesome but true)
Judging by the ongoing aerial nastiness and declining hit rate, I can only conclude that I’ve taken out the dumb slow ones and am contributing to a master race of super horseflies via my intervention in natural selection. Good Lord, what is next?
Thanos had it all wrong — with all the infinity stones he could have wiped out 100% of horseflies along with ticks, chiggers, mosquitoes, fleas, and brown recluses, thereby making the universe/multiverse a more livable place. He completely lost his way.
Also murder hornets, poison ivy.
