Well. Uh . . .
Nothing like getting covid, then rebound covid, to scramble one’s sense of time and rend the waning days of 2022 into something of a blur. Sick nearly three weeks now, an uncommonly heavy weight in the chest. Nevertheless, coherent enough to look back at what I read in 2022. A year characterized by revisiting some books, some from childhood. A shorter list than intended. And it’s a largely white list . . .
Books Read in 2022
- Murray Ogilvie – Duncan: The Origins of the Clan Duncan and their Place in History
- Robert Greene – The 48 Laws of Power
- Stephen King – On Writing (again); The Eyes of the Dragon
- Roald Dahl – Fantastic Mr Fox (again); Danny, Champion of the World (again)
- James and Deborah Howe – Bunnicula (again)
- Anne McCaffrey – If Wishes Were Horses
- Henry Miller – Tropic of Cancer
- Catherine Arnold – Bedlam: London and its Mad
- N. K. Jemisin – The Obelisk Gate
- Hemingway – For Whom the Bell Tolls (again)
- Jules Verne – Around the World in Eighty Days (again)
- Alexandre Dumas – The Count of Monte Cristo (again)
And now it’s 2023. Welcome. Looking forward to Octavia Butler next . . .
